EYFS
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Provision
At Wroughton Academies, we are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment for our youngest learners in the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Our mission is to ensure that every child has the knowledge, understanding, and skills to be confident and successful individuals. We believe that a strong foundation in the early years is crucial for lifelong learning and development.
Our EYFS Curriculum
Our EYFS curriculum is designed to meet the Early Learning Goals set out by the Department for Education. These goals encompass the following areas of learning:
- Communication and Language: Developing listening, attention, understanding, and speaking skills.
- Physical Development: Enhancing gross and fine motor skills, as well as promoting health and self-care.
- Personal, Social, and Emotional Development: Building self-confidence, self-awareness, and managing feelings and behavior.
- Literacy: Fostering reading and writing skills.
- Mathematics: Introducing numbers, patterns, shapes, and measures.
- Understanding the World: Exploring people, communities, the natural world, and technology.
- Expressive Arts and Design: Encouraging creativity through art, music, movement, dance, role-play, and design.
Integration with the National Curriculum
As children transition from the EYFS to Key Stage 1, our curriculum seamlessly integrates with the National Curriculum. This ensures continuity in learning and helps children build on the skills and knowledge acquired in the early years. Our approach is holistic, focusing on both academic achievements and personal development to prepare children for future success.
Developing Essential Habits for Learning and Development
At Wroughton Academies, we emphasize the importance of developing essential habits for learning and development. One of the key habits we promote is regular attendance. Consistent attendance is crucial for:
- Building a Strong Foundation: Regular attendance helps children establish routines, build relationships, and fully engage in learning activities.
- Maximizing Learning Opportunities: Frequent absences can disrupt learning and make it challenging for children to keep up with their peers.
- Developing Responsibility: Attending school regularly instills a sense of responsibility and commitment in children from an early age.
We work closely with parents and carers to ensure that children attend school regularly and on time. Our staff are always available to support families in overcoming any barriers to attendance.
Support for All Learners
We recognize that each child is unique and may require different levels of support to achieve their full potential. Our qualified and experienced Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) works with teachers, parents, and external professionals to provide tailored support for children with additional needs. We strive to create an inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
Join Our Community
We warmly welcome parents and carers to become active participants in their child's educational journey.
